It's Not Outstanding If Its Not Fun

The highest rating you can receive from the CQC (Care Quality Commission) is outstanding. The CQC is the independent regulator for all of Health and Social Care in England. There are 4 ratings in total that the CQC can assign to a care provider or service, and those are;

1.      Outstanding – The service is performing exceptionally well.

2.      Good – The service is performing well and meeting CQC expectations.

3.      Requires Improvement – The service is not performing as well as it should and the CQC have told the service how it must improve.

4.      Inadequate – The service is performing badly and the CQC have taken action against the person or organisation that runs it.

To achieve an outstanding rating, you need to truly deliver services that go far and beyond just providing care. You must truly enhance peoples lives despite their needs for care.

At Ocala Healthcare, we believe that care cannot be truly outstanding unless it is fun!

This means that those receiving care should be able to look forward to day trips, games, and the odd party! But every interaction is an opportunity to have fun and to make the person you are caring for smile.

We’ve always said that you need to have a good sense of humour when working in care, because it is hard! It can be physically and emotionally challenging, and you’ll only enjoy it if you love helping people and are having fun!

The great thing about working in care is that you get to decide as the carer what kind of day you have. If you go in with the intention of making everyone have fun, then that’s what will happen. When you walk into the room with a smile and a bounce it has a profound impact in a care home.

We want to be the person that people in the care home hopes to see walk through the door, and to spread some fun and joy.

Our third value is It’s not outstanding if it’s not fun and we strive to bring joy to the services that we support by employing people that share our passion for care. People that are passionate about care and have a great sense of fun make peoples lives better.

At Ocala Healthcare, we also strive to make care employment outstanding, and as you now know it has to be fun!

So, to do this we hold lots of events!

This includes a Christmas Party, a Summer Event, Monthly Coffee Mornings, and we also host the annual Carer Appreciation Event!

These events are always well supported and great fun! It’s a chance for us to say thank you for all of your hard work and to share nice food, and a few drinks!

Our aspiration for the future is for Ocala Healthcare to represent outstanding care and outstanding employment. For that to happen wehave to make care more fun! Because it’s not outstanding if its not fun.
