What is the recruitment process like?

We take pride in delivering quality care – and that starts with hiring the right people. Our recruitment process is robust, supportive, and designed to ensure only the most committed and capable individuals join our team. Here’s how it works:

Apply for a job
We use a mix of paid and organic recruitment strategies to attract top talent. Our goal is to identify the top 1% of care professionals who are aligned with our values and mission.
Confirm minimum experience
Applicants must have at least six months of professional care experience. We carry out pre-interview screening to assess suitability before moving forward.

Interview stage
All candidates are interviewed by trained members of our team and assessed using a scored framework. Only those who meet our benchmark for quality, compassion, and professionalism are offered a role.

Right-to-work and background checks
Successful candidates are asked to provide references, a valid DBS certificate, and right-to-work documents. These checks ensure every team member is safe, reliable, and fully eligible to work in the UK.

Face-to-face training
We deliver all our training in person to ensure its engaging, thorough, and effective. Our bespoke training package must be completed in full – with each module assessed – before a candidate is cleared for work.

Welcome to the team!
Once training is complete and all paperwork is in place, you’re ready to begin. Our friendly team will be in touch to guide you through your induction and introduce you to the Ocala way of delivering exceptional care.

What do I need to apply?
To work with Ocala Healthcare, you’ll need at least six months of professional experience in a care setting. Most importantly, we’re looking for people who are genuinely passionate about making a difference. Compassion, reliability, and a desire to provide consistently outstanding care are essential qualities. We’ll support you with training and development, but a caring nature is something you must already bring.
What are the working hours?

Our shift patterns are flexible and designed to suit both the needs of the individuals we support and the availability of our team. We typically operate across three core shifts:

Early: 07:00 – 15:00
Late: 15:00 – 22:00
Night: 22:00 – 07:00

Some services may vary, and we always aim to accommodate individual preferences where possible. Whether you’re looking for full-time, part-time, or weekend work, we have options available.

Do you provide permanent contracts?
Yes. While we offer a range of contract types to suit different needs – including part-time and flexible roles – the majority of our positions are permanent. We believe in building long-term relationships with our staff and investing in their professional development.
What is the pay rate?
We pay the real living wage, as per the Real Living Wage Foundation, which is currently £12.60ph. We also provide enhancements for nights, weekends, and bank holidays where applicable. To view current vacancies and specific pay rates, please contact our friendly recruitment team directly on 01473 941211.
